PRESS RELEASE! PERSBERICHT! PROJECT LOS MUROS INVISIBLES

The INVISIBLE WALLS project goes to Fuerteventura to give visibility to the women of La Oliva.

The consulting firm CROWPLAN, specialized in the rights of architects and culture, in collaboration with the Canarian Institute of Cultural Development, presents next Thursday, December 2 at 6:00 p.m. (UTC+0), in the Casa de los Coroneles cultural space, the artistic exhibition of Muros Invisibles.

The Muros Invisibles project is based on a completely unpublished research on the current invisible walls that still stand in Fuerteventura, in relation to the role of women in the face of the abuses of ”LOS CORONELES”, as a system of power, in the cultural landscapes of the north of the Majorera Island (other name for Fuerteventura).

This exhibition is intended to reflect parts of the past 300 years of Fuerteventura, illustrated by the artist Verónica MG. This exhibition takes the form of an essay / collage which reflects on ”the human condition of women in the days of the colonels” and the traces that still persist today in history.

Muros Invisibles investigates mainly two questions: What remains of that time in the intangible cultural heritage of the north of the island? And what remains in the Canary Islands about these behaviors and why do they persist? From these questions, the necessary information is extracted to better understand where we are and where we are going in this area, as well as suggestions to improve the cultural heritage of the archipelago.

The research is based on the exhaustive search for real stories of women rooted in the municipality of La Oliva, who suffered and defied the conventions of other times, to which a special tribute is paid by placing them in history as they deserve.

As a final result, on Thursday, December 2, at 6:00 p.m., an act of presentation of the research and the inauguration of the exhibition Muros Invisibles will be held. In parallel, a series of interviews with female artists from Fuerteventura will be screened that will give testimony of the current cultural reality.

Crowplan, a consulting firm founded just 3 years ago, in July 2018, has specialized in a field of mixed disciplines that appear very different from each other. It is a consulting firm specialized in public issues and private ones related to law, culture, architecture, urban planning and cultural heritage, especially in island territories (islands, archipelagos) and coastal areas.

+ Law, Architecture and Culture, that is, it fundamentally deals with the Rights of Architects and artists, and among these rights is the right to equality between men and women.

In an economic sector such as the cultural sector, which creates as many jobs in the Canary Islands as the Agricultural sector but receives half of the public aid that bananas or tomatoes receive, equality is taken for granted. The reality is that every time a study or investigation delves into the qualitative and quantitative study of how equality is advancing, we realize that, in reality, equality does not even exist in the cultural sector.

This project is possible thanks to the help and collaboration of the Canarian Institute for Cultural Development and the Government of the Canary Islands.

Het INVISIBLE WALLS-project komt naar Fuerteventura om de vrouwen van La Oliva zichtbaarheid te geven.

Het adviesbureau CROWPLAN, gespecialiseerd in de rechten van architecten en cultuur, presenteert in samenwerking met het Canarische Instituut voor Culturele Ontwikkeling aanstaande donderdag 2 december om 18:00 uur (UTC+0) in de culturele ruimte Casa de los Coroneles de artistieke tentoonstelling Muros Invisibles.

Het Muros Invisibles-project is gebaseerd op een volledig ongepubliceerd onderzoek naar de huidige onzichtbare muren die nog steeds op Fuerteventura staan, in relatie tot de rol van vrouwen in het licht van de misbruiken van ”LOS CORONELES”, (de Kolonels) als een machtssysteem, in de culturele landschappen van het noorden van het eiland Majorera (andere naam voor Fuerteventura).

Deze tentoonstelling is bedoeld om delen van de afgelopen 300 jaar van Fuerteventura te weergeven, geïllustreerd door de kunstenaar Verónica MG. Deze tentoonstelling heeft de vorm van een essay / collage die reflecteert op de sporen van ”de menselijke conditie van vrouwen in de dagen van de kolonels” die vandaag de dag nog steeds in de geschiedenis aanwezig zijn.

Muros Invisibles onderzoekt hoofdzakelijk twee vragen: Wat blijft er van die tijd over in het immaterieel cultureel erfgoed van het noorden van het eiland? En wat blijft er op de Canarische Eilanden over aan dit gedrag en waarom blijven ze bestaan? Uit deze vragen wordt de nodige informatie gehaald om beter te begrijpen waar we zijn en waar we naartoe gaan op dit gebied, evenals suggesties om het culturele erfgoed van de archipel te verbeteren.

Het onderzoek is gebaseerd op de uitputtende zoektocht naar echte verhalen van vrouwen die geworteld zijn in de gemeente La Oliva, die hebben geleden en de conventies van andere tijden hebben getrotseerd. Aan hen wordt een speciaal eerbetoon gebracht door ze in de geschiedenis te plaatsen zoals ze verdienen.

Als eindresultaat vindt op donderdag 2 december om 18.00 uur een presentatie van het onderzoek en de huldiging van de tentoonstelling Muros Invisibles plaats. Tegelijkertijd wordt een reeks interviews vertoond met vrouwelijke kunstenaars uit Fuerteventura die getuigen van de huidige culturele realiteit.

Crowplan, een adviesbureau dat slechts 3 jaar geleden, in juli 2018, werd opgericht, heeft zich gespecialiseerd in een vakgebied van gemixte disciplines die erg verschillend van elkaar lijken. Het is een adviesbureau gespecialiseerd in openbare en particuliere kwesties met betrekking tot recht, cultuur, architectuur, stedenbouw en cultureel erfgoed, met name in eilandgebieden (eilanden, archipels) en kustgebieden.

+ Recht, architectuur en cultuur gaat over de rechten van architecten en kunstenaars, en een van deze rechten is het recht op gelijkheid tussen mannen en vrouwen.

In een economische sector als de culturele sector, die op de Canarische Eilanden evenveel banen creëert als de landbouwsector maar slechts de helft van de overheidssteun ontvangt die bananen of tomaten ontvangen, wordt gelijkheid als vanzelfsprekend beschouwd. Maar de realiteit is dat elke keer dat een studie of onderzoek zich verdiept in de kwalitatieve en kwantitatieve studie van hoe gelijkheid vordert, we ons realiseren dat gelijkheid in werkelijkheid ook niet in de culturele sector bestaat.

Dit project is mogelijk dankzij de hulp en samenwerking van het Canarische Instituut voor Culturele Ontwikkeling en de regering van de Canarische Eilanden.
